Nature- biological growth and development
Nurture- the culture and environment around us
In our everyday life we often see people discussing about
what should be the best way to grow children and young ones in order to achieve
a bright future.
And in order to achieve this we look the history of
successful personalities of society to know how they have brought up. What people forget is that it is not only nurturing
but nature too has its contribution in overall development of an individual.
Lets take an example. We all know that all of us have difference in DNA and
this means that we have difference in biological aspects with each other. We
also know that there is a specific part
in brain which respond to specific task. With difference in DNA, the structure
of brain may vary from person to person. Now suppose someone's brain has rewarding
nature to literature. It means that he will enjoy literature than any other
subject. Take another example, supposed someone's brain lack sleep hormones
like melatonin etc. ,whatever environment you will provide to him he always having
difficulty in sleep. Suppose we are talking about a man whose brain has good
rewarding respond to testosterone than what will happen, even a slightest
interaction with female he may get excited,in whatever type of culture he had
been brought up.
Take another example, suppose you child has lacking of some
useful enzymes in digestive system but you are unaware of this and you want
make your child a powerful man. What you will do is you will provide him with
best nutritional diet which you have learned from the history of wrestlers but
unfortunately it will not be beneficial to your child and he may not show any
feature of powerful man irrespective to whatever you feed him. It can only be
useful after medical examination of individual to determine to what he is fit
for both physically and psychologically.
